By day the tropical beach of Las Caletas, only accessible by sea, is the ultimate hideaway to relax under the sound of swaying palms. When the night falls it transforms into a mystical paradise: flickering torches, enticing flavors and aromas, hypnotizing dances and rhythmic drumbeats find their way into the secret places of the visitor´s soul.

The magical change in appearance of Las Caletas from day to night triggered the curiosity of Cynthia Beare of Vallarta Lifestyles Magazine. After exploring Las Caletas by day and swimming with the sea lions last May, she returned August 20th and left no stone unturned. She hunted around Caletas armed with her notebook, digital recorder and camera crew, to personally discover and experience the mystical forces going on behind the scenes of this transformation.
