| | Much of Mexico's rich cultural heritage is reflected in the stories and folklore of civilizations past. Our Rhythms of the Night dance performance illustrates how ancient pre-Columbian religions and beliefs influenced the myths, legends, and cultures of Mexico.
Ancestral Rituals give life to pre-Hispanic civilizations with the blood of our people flowing like the roots on trees. Using the free-form techniques of contemporary dance, the show presents the ceremony in which two hearts melt in eternal compliments: man and woman.
The male energy represented in the hunting of the deer is an indigenous cult to accept wisdom and the right path for life, giving way to the female beauty with its sensual gestures full of enticing significance while transforming the deities in this paradise. Creation turns into the sacred fire with the dancers purifying this union of embracing constellations, while live music fills the atmosphere with rhythms of percussions, poetry and Mesoamerican flutes.
A refreshing alternative to the usual "Mexican Fiesta" and "Folkloric Dance" tourist attractions in Puerto Vallarta, this contemporary dance show is part of Vallarta Adventures' exclusive Rhythms of the Night excursion and an inspiring blend of art and culture that should not be missed - so make your reservations today!

 The Set
Not many structures of the ancient world are more fascinating than pyramids. Found in different areas around the world and constructed at various points in history, pyramids are not only magnificent architectural monuments, but also stand as important symbols of the civilization by which they were created.
The ancient civilizations of Mexico built pyramids to serve as dramatic stages for religious rituals and civic ceremonies. We chose to construct our stage using a pyramid design to represent the strong connection the people had with both their gods and the universe.
In order to maintain the natural beauty of Las Caletas, the amphitheater was designed and constructed using ecologically friendly construction techniques and natural materials. The pyramid consists of stone blocks that interlock like pieces of a puzzle, forming a series of stepped terraces. By tilting the blocks slightly inward, the weight of the stones lock them into place.
By building a replica of the stone pyramids of the ancient culture, we hope to give you a closer look at a civilization that is long forgotten, and to help you recognize their significance as a major facet of Mexico's history.
