Q: Where do the Sea Lion Adventure programs take place?

A:
The sea lions have their own habitat at Dolphin Center #1, where they participate in the Sea Lion Encounter programs. Here, in their special pool, there is a cave, a waterfall, and a platform where participants can stand in the water with them.

Q: Do some of the Sea Lions live at Las Caletas?

A:
No, all of the Sea Lions live at the Dolphin Center but each morning 1 or 2 of the animals and their trainer ride in their own private boat to Las Caletas for the Snorkeling with Sea Lions program. They ride in the boat just like a dog would with it's owner, and as soon as they arrive they are free to dive into the open ocean. This is the most natural setting for any of our marine mammal interactive programs and the Sea Lions take turns for their "days out."

Q: Where are your Sea Lions from?

A:
Apart from Monico, who is from California, all of our Sea Lions are from Uraguay in South America.

Q: What is the difference between interacting with Sea Lions and Dolphins?

A:
The Sea Lion programs are unique and there are only one or two places in the world where you can do this so it is a once in a lifetime experice that you should not miss! Sea Lions are much more affectionate than dolphins, they show more expressions in their faces, and they actually hug you with their flippers!

Q: How many people participate in each Sea Lion Encounter?

A:
In our Sea Lion Encounter, group sizes are kept to a maximum of 8 people per encounter so you'll get the most out of this fascinating experience. Snorkeling with Sea Lions at Las Caletas is limited to only 12 participants per day tour - so make your reservations NOW!
